STORYBOARD
1. Logline
A game addict spent most of his time in the room, trying to be the champion of that cyber world without realizing himself a fictional character in another bigger game.
2. Genre: drama
The story emphasizes on the unstable mental process of the only one protagonist (a game addict) thereby revealing his latent perceptions, thoughts, distortions, and general struggle in the way to prove his values to the surroundings.
3. Setting
In 2016, Vietnam’s economy has become one of ten top performers in the world. The rapid economic growth associates with competition from external human resources resulted from foreign invested projects. Every year, Vietnam has 400 000 graduate students but more than half of them are still unemployed. Highly competitive environment has put a heavy burden on young Vietnamese’s shoulders. They are obsessed with the thought of having to be successful from the family, friends and society but not everyone can genuinely achieve what people call “success”. Meanwhile, Vietnamese online game market has just obtained revenue of 217 million USD last year with 33.9 million gamers and nearly half of them (41%) are willing to pay money for game activities. The enormous expansion of online game has turned the new generation into digital natives who spend more time indulging in that cyber world seeking for recognition, which they can not achieve in their real life.
4. Characters breakdown
The film features the only one protagonist, an 18-year-old boy with the game account’s name - Faker. He is the only child of a normal family in Bien Hoa province, 30 kilometers away from the center of Ho Chi Minh City. His father is a teacher of a well-known high school in the region, his mother is a housewife. Faker’s father is a conservative and quite severe guy who always forces his son to earn great results at school. His mother is a woman who feels smug about her circumstances. She usually remains silent to keep the peace in the family. Faker gets used to his so-so life from the very young age. He is medium height and quite overweight. His face is covered with pimples and his hair is always clotted. Faker is an introvert. He does not know how to start a conversation with people at school. Associating with the fact that he owns no special talent, his trivial round has passed quietly for years. Similar to almost all students from Vietnam, he had to take part in the university entrance exam with very little hope. Faker’s father, a teacher, feet disappointed and could not accept the truth that his son did not have ability to win a place at university. After the first time Faker failed the exam, his family hired a small room in SaiGon for his convenience of revising for the university entrance exam again. Contrasting to his family’s expectation, Faker usually skipped class at the exam preparation center and hid himself in the dorm room playing role-play online game. In that cyber world, Faker was a genuine dominator receiving admiration from many gamers. Other guys usually begged him to become a member in his team. It was not until one day did another mysterious player appear and Faker’s empire started to shake.

Set-up
Faker and his team were gaining the upper hand over the remaining team but suddenly being knocked out by this newbie
Build-up
Faker nearly busted a gut practicing his skills and waited for a day to restore his pride without realizing he was becoming agressive towards others.
Pay-off
After many days, Faker finally became the champion of his world but immediately being deleted by the genuine gamer who is role playing him
